Adjusting options and surcharges

Learn how to adjust options and surcharges for future periods without affecting existing bookings. Set validity periods and duplicate surcharges safely.

Want to change the price of an existing option or surcharge? Never change the price directly in the existing option or surcharge. Doing so may affect existing bookings that already include the surcharge.

Instead, set the existing option or surcharge to end on a specific reservation date and create a copy with the new price that applies from that date onwards. This ensures that existing bookings keep the old price, while the new price only applies to new bookings.

Adjusting the existing option or surcharge

  1. Find the option or surcharge you want to adjust and click Edit.

  2. Open the Rules tab.

  3. Adjust the relevant validity period:

    • 'Surcharge is valid from' and 'Surcharge is valid until': these dates are based on the stay period.

    • 'Surcharge is valid from reservation date' and 'Surcharge is valid until reservation date': these dates are based on the date the booking is made.

  4. Click Save changes.

Duplicating the option or surcharge

Next, create a copy of the existing option or surcharge for the new period.

  1. Open the General tab within the surcharge.

  2. Click Duplicate surcharge.

  3. A new option or surcharge is created with the same settings.

You can recognize the duplicated version by “– copy” after its name.

Setting the validity period of the duplicate

  1. Find the duplicated option or surcharge and click Edit.

  2. Open the Rules tab.

  3. Set the validity period for the new period.

  4. Make sure the new period starts immediately after the validity period of the original option or surcharge.

  5. Click Save changes.
