Channel commission

Sales channels such as Booking.com and Airbnb can generate more reservations for your accommodations. In return, these platforms usually charge a commission on the rental amount of each reservation. This commission is referred to as channel commission.

In this article, you'll learn how channel commission is processed in our booking system and how it can be included in owner statements.

When a reservation is received through the channel manager in our booking system, the channel commission is automatically imported from the connected sales channel. This allows you to see exactly how much commission is owed to the platform, giving you a clear overview of the reservation costs in relation to the total booking amount.

Important: The amount of channel commission is determined by the connected sales channel and is automatically imported into our booking system. As a result, the commission may vary per reservation and per sales channel.

Reservation example

Suppose a reservation contains the following amounts:

In this example, the channel commission is €69,60.

This means the commission is deducted from the rental amount of €580,00, leaving €510,40 in rental income. The surcharges, tourist tax, and security deposit remain unchanged.

If you use owner statements, you can choose to automatically include the channel commission. The commission is deducted from the rental amount for each reservation, ensuring that the correct net rental income is calculated for the property owner. This eliminates the need to process the commission manually afterwards.
