Do you use the Booking.com connection through the channel manager in our booking system? If so, your rates are automatically synchronized to Booking.com.
If you notice different rates in the Booking.com Extranet than in the channel manager, this is usually caused by a setting within Booking.com itself.
The checks below will help you identify the cause of the pricing difference.
Check active promotions
In the Booking.com Extranet, navigate to Promotions > Your active promotions.
Check whether there are any active promotions, such as:
Genius discounts
Last-minute promotions
Early booking discounts
Seasonal promotions
These promotions are applied on top of the rates synchronized from the channel manager and may cause lower prices to be displayed.
Check your rate plans
In the Booking.com Extranet, navigate to Rates & Availability > Rate Plans.
Verify that each rate plan displays either Mapped from Recranet or Configured in your calendar. Only rate plans with one of these statuses are connected to the channel manager.
If neither message is displayed, the rates for that rate plan are not being synchronized, which can result in pricing differences. In that case, please contact our support team so the rate plan can be connected correctly.
Check occupancy based pricing
In the Booking.com Extranet, navigate to Rates & Availability > Pricing per guest.
Booking.com allows you to configure different prices based on the number of guests.
Check that there are no unintended pricing rules or discounts and verify that the standard occupancy has been configured correctly.
Check surcharges and taxes
In the Booking.com Extranet, navigate to Property > VAT / Taxes / Charges.
Check whether any additional charges have been configured, such as:
Tourist tax
Cleaning fee
Service charges
These charges are not automatically synchronized through the channel manager and may cause pricing differences. Adjust the surcharge and tax settings in the extranet if necessary.
Important: If Booking.com collects the tourist tax on your behalf, it is treated as an included charge. As a result, the tourist tax is deducted from the accommodation rate, which may cause the displayed rental price to appear lower.
Check the currency
Verify that Booking.com is using the same currency as our booking system.
If Booking.com displays rates in a different currency, exchange rate conversions may result in pricing differences.
Check restrictions
In the Booking.com Extranet, navigate to Rates & Availability > Calendar.
Check whether any restrictions are active, such as:
Minimum length of stay
Maximum length of stay
Arrival restrictions
Departure restrictions
These settings may affect the price displayed to guests on Booking.com.
Synchronize the rates
Have you completed all of the checks above and are the rates still different?
Synchronize the rates again from the channel manager.
Navigate to Settings > Channels > Channel Manager.
Click Accommodations next to Booking.com.
Click Edit next to the desired accommodation.
On the General tab, go to the Full sync section.
Click Execute full synchronization.
This will resend all rates and restrictions to Booking.com.
If the pricing difference still exists after the synchronization, please contact our support team. We will be happy to investigate the cause together with you.
