Sometimes guests leave earlier than expected due to bad weather, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. In these situations, you may want to cancel only the unused nights while keeping the nights already stayed on the reservation.
By partially canceling the reservation, the accommodation becomes immediately available again for new bookings.
How can I cancel a reservation with an early departure?
Step 1: Open the reservation
Open the reservation you want to edit.
Click the arrow next to Email in the top-right corner.
Select Convert to group reservation.
Click Save group reservation to confirm the change.
Step 2: Split the reservation
Within the reservation, go to the 'Overview locations' section.
Check the box at the reservation, then click the Split location button.
Enter the guests' check-out date.
Click Save changes.
The reservation will now be split into two separate reservations: one for the nights the guest stayed and one for the nights that need to be cancelled.
Step 3: Cancel the remaining nights
Open the sub-reservation for the nights you want to cancel by clicking the reservation number.
Click the Cancel button at the top of the reservation sand select whether or not you want to charge a cancellation fee.
Step 4: Send an updated confirmation if desired
Return to the group reservation.
Check whether the reservation has been adjusted correctly.
Optionally click E-mail to send an updates confirmation to the guest.
In the confirmation, the guest will see both the nights stayed and the nights canceled. This document can be used, for example, for cancellation insurance.
