Learn how to connect an electric cash drawer to an Epson receipt printer via the RJ11 port and how the cash drawer automatically opens when a cash payment is completed.

This guide walks you through the steps for installing and connecting an electric cash drawer to an Epson receipt printer.

Connecting the cash drawer to the Epson receipt printer

  1. Prepare the cash drawer
Make sure you have an electric cash drawer that is compatible with the Epson receipt printer.

  2. Connect the cash drawer via the RJ11 port
On the back of the Epson receipt printer, you will find an RJ11 port. Use the supplied cable to physically connect the cash drawer to the receipt printer.

  3. Use the connection
Once the connection has been established, it works immediately. When a cash payment is completed in our booking system, the receipt printer automatically sends a signal to open the cash drawer.

Setting the cash drawer to open automatically

For specific instructions on automatically opening the cash drawer, we recommend consulting the cash drawer's manual. Settings may vary depending on the manufacturer and model. The cash drawer's manual therefore provides the most accurate information for your specific model.
