Mailchimp integration

Connect Mailchimp to our booking system and automatically sync guest and reservation data. Use Mailchimp merge tags and Automations to send automated pre-arrival and post-departure emails.

With the Mailchimp integration in our booking system, guest and reservation data is automatically synchronized with a Mailchimp audience. You can use this data for newsletters and automated guest communication, such as pre-arrival emails and follow-up emails after departure.

Connect a Mailchimp audience

First, connect a Mailchimp audience to our booking system. Guest and reservation data will then be made available in Mailchimp through merge tags.

You can use these merge tags to personalize emails and create Mailchimp automations based on information such as the arrival date, departure date, booked accommodation, or reservation language.

Set up pre-arrival and post-departure emails in Mailchimp

Once the Mailchimp audience has been created and the API key and list ID have been connected, you can create campaigns for automated pre-arrival and post-departure emails.

  1. Go to Automations.

  2. Click All journeys and then Build from scratch.

  3. Enter a name for the campaign and select the connected Mailchimp audience.

  4. Click Starting point, select Date & special events, and then choose Specific date.

Set up a pre-arrival email

To send an automated email before arrival, use the Arrival date date field as the trigger. You can choose how many days before arrival the email should be sent. If required, you can also send an additional email one or two days before the guest's arrival.

Set up a post-departure email

To send an automated email after departure, use the Departure date date field as the trigger.

A commonly used setting is to send the email two days after the guest's departure date.

Edit a Mailchimp automation trigger

Do you want to change when the email is sent? Click Edit next to the relevant trigger to adjust its settings.

Include or exclude reservation types in Mailchimp

For pre-arrival and post-departure emails, you can choose which types of reservations are included in the Mailchimp audience.

You can configure this separately for:

  • seasonal pitch reservations;

  • annual pitch reservations;

  • owner reservations;

  • Channel Manager reservations.

You can configure these options in the Mailchimp lists settings in our booking system.
