Convert a reservation to an option or block

Learn how to convert a reservation into an option or block and when it is useful to use these statuses.

In some situations, you may want to temporarily hold a reservation or convert it into a block. Within our booking system, you can convert a reservation into an option reservation or a block.

Open the reservation and click the arrow in the top-right corner to open the dropdown menu. From this menu, you can convert the reservation into an option or a block.

Convert to option

When you convert a reservation into an option, the selected period remains reserved, but the reservation receives the status Option. This is useful when a booking has not yet been confirmed and you want to temporarily hold the availability for the guest.

You can then set an expiration date for the option to indicate how long the guest has to make a decision.

Converting a reservation into an option is only possible when the reservation has the status Open and is not confirmed yet.

Convert to block

By converting a reservation into a block, the selected period becomes unavailable for new reservations. This can be useful when an accommodation, room, pitch, or other bookable item should temporarily not be available for booking.

A reservation can be converted into a block from any reservation status. However, we recommend doing this before any payments have been registered on the reservation.

If payments have already been recorded, converting the reservation into a block may result in administrative discrepancies.
