Trial balance overview

Learn how to use the trial balance to gain insight into opening balances, transactions, and account balances within a selected period.

The trial balance provides insight into all financial transactions within a selected period. This report helps you verify bookings and analyze your financial administration.

You can find the trial balance via: Administration > Accounting > Trial balance.

Filtering the trial balance

When opening the trial balance, you can select a reporting period based on:

  • Year, quarter, month.

This allows you to create both high-level overviews and detailed financial analyses.

Structure of the trial balance

The trial balance consists of three sections:

  • Opening balance: displays the balances at the start of the selected period.

  • Transaction balance: shows all debit and credit transactions within the selected period.

  • Closing balance: displays the result of all transactions and the current balance for each general ledger account.

The trial balance is based on the administrative bookings recorded in the system. You can view these bookings via: Administration > Accounting > Administrative bookings.
