Set up a Mollie payment terminal

Set up a Mollie payment terminal in our booking system. Import the terminal, link it to a cash drawer and configure it for use at a kiosk or self-service terminal if needed.

With a Mollie payment terminal, you can process payments directly from our booking system. This guide explains how to import Mollie terminals, link them to a cash drawer and configure them for use at a self-service kiosk if needed.

Create a payment method for terminal payments

Before you can import a Mollie terminal, you first need to create the payment method for terminal payments.

  1. Go to Settings > Administrative > Payments and click Payment methods next to your payment provider.

  2. Scroll to the 'Terminal payment' payment method and click Add.

  3. Enter a name for the payment method and select the desired general ledger account. You can then save the payment method.

After the payment method has been saved, the Terminals button appears next to the payment method.

Import a Mollie terminal

  1. Click Terminals next to the payment method you just created.

  2. Click Import terminals.

  3. The available Mollie terminals are now imported. The following information is automatically retrieved from Mollie:

    • Terminal ID

    • Brand

    • Model

    • Serial number

The terminal name is taken from the description configured in Mollie.

Configure a Mollie terminal

After the terminals have been imported, configure where and how each terminal will be used.

  1. Link the terminal to the correct cash drawer.

  2. Enable 'Active' to use the terminal.

  3. Is the terminal located at a self-service kiosk? Enable 'Kiosk' as well.

Leave Port and Acquirer ID empty. These settings are only used for Worldline terminals.

Differences between Mollie and Worldline terminals

A Mollie terminal can be used to process payments from our booking system. Some functions that are available for Worldline terminals are not supported.

With a Mollie terminal, you cannot use our booking system to:

  • refund a payment through the terminal;

  • cancel a payment through the terminal;

  • retrieve the most recent transaction;

  • retrieve daily totals;

  • reset the terminal;

  • restart the terminal.

The buttons for these functions are not displayed for Mollie terminals. This is normal and does not mean that the terminal has been configured incorrectly.

Want to refund a payment? Use the standard refund process in our booking system.
