Check in and check out using the new kiosk

Learn how guests can check in and check out using the kiosk, retrieve their booking and pay any outstanding balance.

The kiosk allows guests to check in and check out independently. Check-in and check-out are part of the same flow. Once the booking has been retrieved, the kiosk automatically determines which steps are required based on the booking.

Please note: this article describes the new version of the kiosk.

How does check-in and check-out via the kiosk work?

The kiosk automatically guides the guest through the process. The screens and steps shown depend on the booking.

Step 1: Choose check-in or check-out

On the welcome screen, the guest selects Check in or Check out. If guests are allowed to make bookings via the kiosk, the Make a booking option is also displayed.

Guests can only check out via the kiosk on the scheduled check-out date. If the check-out date has not yet been reached, the booking cannot be checked out via the kiosk.

Step 2: Retrieve the booking

Guests can retrieve their booking in two ways:

  1. By scanning the barcode on their booking confirmation.

  2. By entering their email address and booking number.

When entering the booking number manually, any separators in the booking number must also be included.

Step 3: Check the booking

The kiosk displays the booking details and price breakdown. The guest checks the information and continues. Based on the booking, the kiosk automatically determines which steps are required to complete the check-in or check-out process.

Step 4: Pay any outstanding balance

If there is an outstanding balance, the guest can choose to pay by card or in cash.

For card payments, the guest follows the instructions on the payment terminal. When choosing cash, the kiosk informs the guest that the outstanding balance must be paid in cash at reception.

Please note: when cash payment is selected, the kiosk does not record a payment transaction. The booking is still checked in or checked out. Reception staff must therefore collect the outstanding amount and manually process the payment in our booking system.

If the booking has already been paid in full, the payment step is skipped.

Step 5: Complete the process

After all required steps have been completed, the kiosk confirms that the guest has successfully checked in or checked out. The kiosk then returns to the welcome screen.
