Import an iCal Feed

Learn how to import an iCal feed, configure synchronization with external booking channels, and resolve reservation conflicts.

An iCal import allows you to synchronize the availability of external booking channels with our booking system. Reservations and availability blocks are imported automatically, ensuring that the availability of your rental units remains up to date.

Important: An iCal integration only synchronizes the availability of a rental unit. Rates, minimum stay requirements, arrival and departure restrictions, and other booking settings are not synchronized via iCal and must always be managed directly in the external booking channel.

In addition to importing an iCal feed, it is also important to export your availability to the external booking channel to ensure synchronization works correctly. For more information, see our article Export an iCal Feed.

How iCal Synchronization Works

Import

You can import multiple iCal feeds for the same rental unit. This allows availability from multiple external booking channels to be synchronized automatically.

Export

When exporting an iCal feed, only reservations and availability blocks that were created in our booking system are included. Imported iCal blocks are not exported again by default, preventing synchronization loops between different systems.

Import an iCal Feed

  1. Click Settings for the desired location.

  2. Open the iCal synchronization tab.

  3. Go to Import calendars and click Add calendar.

  4. Enter a recognizable name for the iCal feed, for example the name of the external booking channel.

  5. Select the correct End date Correction for the external platform. The table below shows the required setting for each supported platform.

  6. Paste the iCal feed URL from the external system into the URL field.

Note: The URL must always begin with https://.

  7. Leave the Active option enabled to keep the synchronization active. Disable it only if you want to temporarily stop importing the iCal feed.

  8. Click Save.

End Date Correction by Booking Channel

Some booking channels interpret the departure date differently. As a result, an end date correction may be required depending on the source:

Resolve iCal Conflicts

A conflict occurs when an imported iCal reservation or availability block overlaps with an existing reservation in our booking system.

  • View a Conflict

  1. Open the planning.

  2. Locate the red calendar icon that indicates a conflict.

  3. Click the icon.

  4. Click View to display the conflicting calendar items.

  • Resolve a Conflict

  1. Click Schedule next to the conflicting item.

  2. Navigate to the relevant dates.

  3. Resolve the conflict, for example by:

    • Moving a reservation.

    • Adding an availability block.

    • Adjusting the availability.

During the next iCal import, our booking system will automatically check whether the conflict has been resolved.

  • Ignore a Conflict

If you have already resolved the conflict in another way or intentionally want to leave it unresolved, you can select Ignore. To prevent overbookings, always review conflicts carefully before ignoring them.

Note: Not all external booking channels support ignored conflicts. Always verify that availability is synchronized correctly after ignoring a conflict.
