Configure options and surcharges for Booking.com

Configure options and surcharges for Booking.com to ensure they are processed correctly in our booking system.

Do you use the Booking.com connection through the channel manager in our booking system? If so, it is important to configure all options, surcharges, and taxes correctly within Booking.com. This ensures that guests are charged the correct amounts and that these charges are processed correctly in our booking system.

Configure options and surcharges in Booking.com

  1. Log in to the Booking.com Extranet.

  2. Navigate to Property > Property policies.

  3. Go to Additional fees and charges.

  4. Add the required surcharges, such as:

    • Cleaning fee

    • Linen or towel fee

    • Pet fee

    • Any other additional charges that apply to your accommodation

  5. Save your changes.

Once saved, the surcharges will be displayed to guests during the Booking.com reservation process.

Surcharges that cannot be changed manually

Not all surcharges can be edited through the Booking.com Extranet. The following charges are managed directly by Booking.com:

  • Tourist tax

  • VAT

  • Service charges

Would you like to change one of these charges, for example because the tourist tax rate has changed? In that case, please contact Booking.com's customer service.

Navigate to Property > VAT / Taxes / Charges. There you will find instructions on how to contact Booking.com by message or phone. Booking.com will then make the requested changes.

Important

If you add a new surcharge or modify an existing surcharge in Booking.com, please inform our support team as well. We will ensure that the surcharge is processed correctly within the connection to our booking system.

Please include the following information:

  • Which surcharge has been added or changed.

  • The amount or percentage of the surcharge.

  • Any additional details, such as whether the surcharge is charged per person or per night.

Also make sure that the corresponding option or surcharge has already been created in our booking system. Only then can it be linked correctly and processed for new reservations.
