Delete a reservation

Learn why reservations cannot be deleted from our reservation system and discover the recommended approach for reservations that are no longer relevant.

It is not possible to delete reservations yourself within our reservation system. This is intentionally designed to keep your administration complete and reliable. In this article, you will learn why reservations cannot be deleted, when it is best to cancel a reservation, and in which exceptional situations a reservation can still be removed.

Why reservations cannot be deleted

If a reservation were deleted:

  • A reservation number would be missing from the administration.

  • All linked reservation data would be permanently lost.

  • Reports and administrative overviews could become incomplete.

In addition, retaining reservation data is important for compliance with laws and regulations regarding data processing and administration.

When should you cancel a reservation?

A reservation is usually canceled in one of the following situations:

  • The guest cancels the reservation.

  • The guest does not show up.

  • The guest creates a new reservation.

  • The reservation is cancelled due to internal or external circumstances.

For more information about cancelling reservations, please reed our article 'Cancel a reservation'.

Exception: requesting a reservation deletion

In exceptional situations, a reservation can still be completely removed by our support team.

This is only possible for situations such as fictitious test reservations without registered payments. These reservations were created purely for testing purposes and therefore have no administrative or financial impact.

Please contact [email protected] and include the reservation number along with the reason why the reservation should be removed.
