Google Hotel Center integration (hotels & vacation rentals)

Information and frequently asked questions about the Google Hotel Center integration for hotels and vacation rentals.

Google uses different categories to help potential guests understand what type of accommodation they can find and book in a specific location. Within the Google Hotel Center integration, accommodations are divided into two categories: hotels and vacation rentals.

Hotel or vacation rental?

Hotel

If your accommodation has a Google Business Profile listing and a physical location at a fixed address that is accessible to the public, it will most likely be considered a Hotel. Examples include hotels, aparthotels, holiday parks, and campsites.

Vacation Rental

If your accommodation is a house, apartment, or other furnished short-term accommodation for travelers, and there is no permanent on-site management or it does not accept walk-in bookings, it is considered a Vacation Rental.

Important information for setting up the integration

  1. Make sure all address details and coordinates are entered correctly under Manage accommodation address details. Google retrieves this information directly from our booking system.

  2. Make sure your accommodation titles are clear and consistent. Google also retrieves this information directly from our booking system.

Frequently asked questions about the Hotel Center integration

1. Google Hotel

  1. I have a campsite or holiday park. Why is it classified as Google Hotel? Because your campsite or holiday park has a physical location at a single fixed address, it falls under Hotel within the Google Hotel Center integration.Google does not have a separate integration for campsites or holiday parks. These are included in the hotel integration. Your Google Business Profile can still use campsite or holiday park as its business category.

  2. Where can I see my campsite or holiday park? The rates for your organization can be displayed on your Google Business Profile. They can also be shown on Google Maps. See Google's documentation for more information.

2. Google Vacation Rentals

  1. The location of my vacation rental is incorrect on the map. What should I do? Make sure the address details and coordinates are entered correctly under Manage accommodation address details.

  2. My vacation rental is not visible on the map. Why? Whether your vacation rental is visible on the map depends on several factors. These include availability, availability for the next booking year, the dates selected by Google, the location from which you are searching, and other factors. First, check your own search and booking environment to make sure the vacation rental is available for the selected dates. Then search for the property again using an incognito window in Google. Google's algorithm also determines whether individual properties are relevant to a particular search based on multiple variables. As a result, not every vacation rental will be displayed on the map for every search.

  3. Where can I see my vacation rentals? Your vacation rentals can be displayed on Google Maps when users filter for Vacation Rentals, on Google Travel, and in Google Search when Google displays a vacation rental map for searches such as vacation rentals in a specific location.
