Featured periods allow you to highlight a specific date range. These periods can be displayed in the online booking process and/or the planning board, making it easy for guests to view availability for events or other important periods.
Create a featured period
Follow these steps to create a new featured period:
Click New featured period in the top-right corner.
Enter a clear name for the featured period.
Set a slug.
The slug is used to display the featured period on your website.
Select the desired featured period type.
Configure the remaining settings and save the featured period.
Featured period types
There are three types of featured periods available.
Manual
Choose Manual if you want to define the dates yourself.
Select Manual as the type.
Open the Periods tab.
Add one or more periods.
Save the settings.
This type is ideal for periods where the dates vary from year to year.
Fixed dates
Choose Fixed dates if the featured period falls on the same calendar dates every year.
Select Fixed dates as the type.
Set the start day and month.
Set the end day and month.
Save the settings.
The booking system will then automatically generate the featured periods for the coming years.
Fixed weekday of the month
Choose Fixed weekday of the month if the period occurs on a specific weekday each year, such as the second Monday of October.
Select Fixed weekday of the month as the type.
Select the desired month.
Select the week of the month.
Select the desired weekday.
Specify how long the period should last.
Save the settings.
This type is useful for recurring annual events that do not take place on a fixed calendar date but always occur on the same weekday within a particular month.
Configure where featured periods are displayed
Use the following options to determine where a featured period is visible:
Show in the planning board – displays the featured period in the planning board.
Show in Online Booking Process – displays the featured period in the Online Booking Process.
When Show in the planning board is enabled, the featured period is displayed in the planning board in a similar way to public holidays. This makes important periods easy for staff to identify at a glance.
When Show in online booking process is enabled, the featured period appears in the calendar of the Online Booking Process. Potential guests can click the featured period to immediately view all available results for those dates, without having to find and select the period manually in the calendar.
Highlight a featured period on your website
